The trail on this section of the Lost Coast is not along the beach but up a few hundred feet. Poison oak was sticking out into the path at 10-20 spots between Bear Harbor and Wheeler. The trail is good two-track to Bear Harbor, but from there to Wheeler it's sometimes overgrown and brambly, but usually very obvious.
