The Horizon Walker is the queen of mobility in my experience. Free 20-30 feet of teleportation at level 11 is nothing to sneeze at (and it functionally makes them immune to opportunity attacks.) Misty Step, Ethereal Step (do NOT sleep on this ability, especially outside of combat), and access to Haste are all fantastic ways to have you zipping ...I would say take the first 5 levels ranger. Then take either two levels of druid or three of rogue. Scout and assassin would work well for your concept. I would say wield a longsword and shield, or a greatsword/axe as the horizon walker is about one powerful attack. If you weren't being melee, you could take a longbow and focus on that.Ranger Archetypes At 3rd level, a ranger gains the Ranger Archetype feature. My character is a dex based archer, and I selected Archery +2 at level 2. I am a human and chose Resilient (Constitution) at level 1 for proficiency with CON saves. At level 4, I bumped up DEX to 18. The expanded spell list is what really interests me about the horizon walker. Any ranger list that lets you try something other than hunters mark (ie haste) is a god send, and teleportation circle gives you a break from survival based travel. Though I do wish they got tele circle earlier and teleportation at that level instead.
