Fallout 4 beginning stuck

Restarting the game a few times worked for me. Seems like a really common issue lots of people are having. Just ran into this issue myself, ended up on this page before finding a solution, found a solution and now want to share it. Turn off / unplug any and all controllers.

You're stuck because the Mechanist has not lowered the ramp so you can get up to the control room. Try walking towards the Mechanist and to the left and right side.
