2019 chevy colorado temperature gauge not working

The car starts heat up as normal. then randomly the temperature gauge dropped all the way to 160 and the fan turns on. Stay that way for a while, and then all of a sudden. ... Had a heck of a time trying to get the truck to turn over after I would get gas- that helped me figure out what the issue was. Like.The more common problem is the thermostat sticking open, the temp sensor is rarely the issue. Your truck's behavior likely means it also has a check engine light on and a P0128 code set.
